LO7, S- Special Community Meeting(masks)

Special Community Meeting(masks) LO7, S February 22, 2022 I was working with Ariela and we found out that the school was going to make masks optional. We were surprised by this decision since we were under the impression that many people in our community were not comfortable with going masks optional. We made a petition and the majority of the high school signed. Once the petition was made and signed we sent it to Ms. Joyce hoping that she would reconsider. After this, we had a community meeting that I lead discussing this issue. We understood that some people felt restricted by the masks and that it was difficult to see smiles or other facial reactions. But we also understood that many people had grandparents living with them or their own reason to wear a mask. We tried to make both parties understand each other while leaving politics out of our conversation since we knew that this was a sensitive topic.
