LO6, S- Appearance Policy

Appearance Policy LO6, S July 21, 2022 During this meeting of the dress code committee, we discussed the drafted dress code and its importance to a woman’s image. The entire committee was in agreement that it was important to have a dress code in order to prevent unwanted attention. We reflected on how many unwanted situations can happen based on one's clothing, which is due to society's perception. We came to the realization that we can not fully prevent these situations happen but we can limit our susceptibility to them by understanding the appropriate way to dress in different establishments. This conversation allowed the committee to read the proposal with an open mind and not just criticize the entire thing. I think that adding a global perspective allows students to understand that what they are doing is not only going to affect them now but it will also affect them in the future.
