LO6, S- Appearance Policy
Appearance Policy LO6 , S August 9, 2022 In our final meeting about the dress code policy, we discussed how we should present it to our entire community. We started off by making sure everyone approved of the final document. Once this occurred the teachers thought Mr. Dorsey should share the policy with the entire high school since he also made other revisions to the community norms. But I thought that it would be better if a student presented the policy since one of the main issues was that students felt like for dress code-related things it was students against teachers. With this, we discussed power dynamics and how it is not always essential for the people in power to share things. We also discussed how the dress code policy mainly affects women-identifying people a woman should present it, which is also related to the gender power imbalance in our society.
